From one market
to another, the windows for marine applications are quite different
from each others. Indeed, the armoured windows for the Navies have
similar designs to the military vehicles and the windows for the
commercial marine, cruise ships as one can find in other transportation
cars. The luxury boats will request more sophisticated windows and
the high speed vessels will be equiped with very resistant and light
glazings.
The International
Marine Organization is responsible for editing norms that define
the resistance criteria that the manufacturers shall follow, taking
in account the risks of impacts.
APPLICABLE STANDARDS
The main countries
that build ships have often defined their own norms that can be
more severe than the IMO's.
SAINT-GOBAIN
SULLY is able to offer to its Customers windows that meet those
international standards :
- ISO 614
- ISO 3254
- ISO 3434
- BSMA 24
- BSMA 25
- MIL STD 18445
