Therefore, SAINT-GOBAIN SULLY takes advantages of the SAINT-GOBAIN SEKURIT's expertise in standard automotive glass in addition to its high technologies developped for the aircrafts and trains markets.

Our armoured glass for vehicles are basically composed of glass, plastic interlayers, and polycarbonate, all those materials being laminated together to achieve the adequate protection against the ammunitions it is designed to defeat.

This combines the complementary benefits of glass and polycarbonate : glass provides the necessary resistance to bullet penetration, and its superior resistance to abrasion and chemicals. Polycarbonate is able to deform itself to absorb the residual impact energy and therefore avoid glass spalling into the vehicle during the impact. The inner side of the polycarbonate ply features a protective hard coating which provides resistance against abrasion and chemical attacks.

Light weight

Such glass/polycarbonate assemblies are the thinnest and the lightest available on the market. This ensures an easier mounting of the glass into the vehicle and also extends the vehicle service life.

Optics

Our glass is produced to meet the most stringent optical clarity and quality levels, according to the major car manufacturers' specifications. Each single manufactured glass is inspected against distorsion during the manufacturing process and before delivery, to verify it meets our customers's specifications. OEM appearance and functions

Because discretion is surely your best ally when your safety is at stake, Saint-Gobain Sully glass look like conventional automotive OEM glass : it features the original shape, dimensions, appearance and functions of the OEM glass it replaces. These characteristics are :

- black border with or without dot matrix
- heating lines and antenna functions for the backlite
- tinted or coated reflecting glass for solar control and privacy

Safety and comfort

- invisible wire grid defrosting and demisting system airplex, or metallic heating coating built into the bullet resistant glass assembly to keep visibility even in inclement weather
- functional antennas for GPS/TV/Radio/Telephone....
- Infra Red reflecting coated glass for thermal comfort.
- Holes for gun-ports available on flat and curved cash-in-transit windows

Edge finishing

- Operable side window with polished edges or attractive black edge matte
- Edge sealing to prevent water and moisture penetration into the laminate
